CYBER AWARENESS

CYBER AWARENESS

Cyber awareness means knowing how to keep your computer safe and secured and also protecting our personal information while being online. Many people today are facing threats that they may or may not be aware of. In order to save ourselves from cyber crime, the first thing we can do is to be aware of cyber crime. The first thing we can do to protect ourselves from internet is not to share any of your personal information, which includes your address, which school you go to, your phone no., etc. Some people provide excess of personal information with anyone  on social networking sites . which can be very dangerous for them. We need to learn what information is appropriate and can be shared and what needs to kept private. On social networking sites,we need to use private  setting for  any important number and keep them secret even with the people you trust especially your credit card, debit card, and phone number. If someone has your password, they can be pretending to be you online which I am sure you won't want to happen. Someone who knows your credit card number can use your credit card to purchase anything they want, that's really dangerous as the person is spending your money.

The second thing we can do to protect ourselves from the internet is that we need to know who are we dealing with online. We might not even know how the person is like in real life or what he or she is going to do next.

So try to spread this message to all of your relatives and friends and stay aware.

CYBER BULLYING

CYBER BULLYING

Cyber bullying takes place on computer or any social networking sites. When anyone faces this problem he or she feels like dying because of embarrassment in public. There is a story about bullying that I want to share with you. There was a girl who stayed online most of the time. One day she was chatting with her friend and when she received a message from a stranger, she started talking to him without even thinking of the consequences. Soon, she started sending her photographs and videos. She even started becoming friendly with him. She wanted to meet him. But the unknown person never replied. After two days she wanted to research about him and she saw her photographs and videos on an inappropriate site.

She started crying and when she messaged the unknown person, he had already blocked her. And, hence, she became a victim herself. Her pictures had all abuses commented on it. Her relatives started embarrassing her. Her parents began to cry and felt ashamed of her. At the end, she was left with no option but to commit  suicide.

CYBER SECURITY

CYBER SECURITY

A girl with a shattered mind,
maybe thirteen years old.
How will she recover?
For what she was never been told.
How will she remove that impurity?
She never knew the answer,
 as it was cyber security.

She never told it to anyone.
No idea how see survived
but I understood how she wished to run
She had no authority
No idea,  Not at all!
What in the world was CYBER SECURITY?

She knew it was a major problem to fix
But what could she do
Thus, she swore upon the River Styn.
Then she recovered soon,
She was content sitting,
Under the bright full moon
A few weeks later, being a part of majority,
She knew what was CYBER SECURITY.

Using computers and making use of other facilities related to it has made our lives more convenient, But,  a coin has two sides, and so this. We have pros and cons of using a computer as well. It has the power to destroy you at once. Just because of our one careless move we tend to lose our respect in the society because we are publicly humiliated. Cyber Awareness should be a key point in our lives because of which we can feel safe and sound. As we know, incomplete knowledge is even more dangerous than not having any. So, we should be completely aware of this sensitive issue today, and help being a change for the better tomorrow.

HACKER AND THE PRAY

HACKER AND THE PRAY

You blocked me last night,
But darling, is it not too late?
For, now, I know you from sun rays
Till the moon light
I know where do you run,
How do you go,
Where do you hide.
I know what street you live in,
Or your favorite color,
Or your favorite site.
Run away from me now,
Your friend list, in front of me.
No, it is not a sin that I am committing,
Grudges ? Oh, none that I am holding.
Evil? Have I not always been ?
You can change your name ,
You can reduce your fame ,
You can buy a different dress,
Even change your address,
But is it not too late now?
Because the rising question here is,

 ‘HOW’?

Now-a-days people have become attached to internet and have started to get involved excessively in social networking sites. We should not meet any stranger or we should not accept any unknown person’s request. They may tell you their pseudonyms and persuade you to meet them, it can be dangerous as you still have no idea about who they actually are. Check the email ID properly before accepting any emails or sending any mails. We should not tell anyone our passwords. We should keep changing our passwords every month. We should instantly report to an elder if we find an awkward mail in our inbox  . Do not hide anything from your parents. Do not write your personal information on bits of papers and leave it here and there.

So, follow these simple ways to have a safe, sound and smart net surfing.

Cyber World

Cyber World

‘Cyber World’, a world of artificial intelligence, bewildering technology, always an easy access to all the information, basically on our fingertips!
Cyber world has made our lives much easier than ever predicted.
Social media, everyone wants to be a part of it. It is a place so astonishing, where you can easily be with and chat with someone who is miles away from you. But here, if you can talk to your friends with just a click, then, your stalker is also just a click away!
In this artificial world, we forget that trappers find their way in, anywhere. Nowadays, we are coming across so many stories of teenagers and youngsters killing themselves, due to depression and such sad tales. All this, as we know, and might have heard many people say many times, again, that all this mistake was committed by JUST ONE CLICK.
How many times will we read and remind each other to stay safe? How many articles do we need to read to protect ourselves from cyber crime? How many more stories will we have to hear before we actually take an action? When will the time come when all of us will finally take an action than blaming the world which is fake?
STOP AND COME TO AN ACTION. That is all it will take. You are saving someone’s life out there.

PLAGIARISM

PLAGIARISM

Plagiarism, copying  from internet  . Not so good. We should never copy essays, articles, poems etc.  from  google as it is not good for our vocabulary. It spoils our writing skills as well as grammar. Sometimes people copy stuff from wikipedia and it gives a lot of wrong information as it can be hand edited easily . Sometimes when we get our assignments and  we need some information for it , we should never take the information from internet. Some of the sites on internet is not safe as when we click on them they hack our systems. We can also get viruses from these kinds of sites. We should never copy others’ ideas and we should only take ideas from internet. We should write stuff by ourselves as it develops our imagination and writing skills.

THINK BEFORE YOU CLICK

Effects of Cyber bullying

Effects of Cyber bullyingIllustration of two teens texting.

Cell phones and computers themselves are not to blame for cyber bullying. Social media sites can be used for positive activities, like connecting kids with friends and family, helping students with school, and for entertainment. But these tools can also be used to hurt other people. Whether done in person or through technology, the effects of bullying are similar.
Kids who are cyber bullied are more likely to:
  • Use alcohol and drugs
  • Skip school
  • Experience in-person bullying
  • Be unwilling to attend school
  • Receive poor grades
  • Have lower self-esteem
  • Have more health problems

A good cyber citizen is....

A good cyber citizen is....
  • Not talking to anyone you don't know
  • Not sending out any personal information even if you know them
  • Don't tell anyone your password on the computer
  • Don't text or email anyone mean or hurtful messages because you can get in trouble
  • Don't copy illegal games/movies/documents on the computer or anything else really!!!
NOW I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE A STORY TO YOU:

A STORY ON CYBER BULLYING
Hi, i am Aprajita and I had a friend named Isha. She was a victim of cyber bulling and it all started with a text.
Jan 12th 2006
She was sitting on her bed when she got a text from an unknown number. It said-
“hi, I am Rajvi, your friend.”
She was surprised as she had no friend named Rajvi and texted her back saying
“sorry I do not know anyone named Rajvi.”
She didn’t receive any messages back so, she thought that it might have been a wrong number.
Jan 14th 2006
As Isha was looking at her friend requests on facebook, she accepted all the requests. Then after 5 minutes she got a message from R.
R-“hi”
Isha- “hi”
R- “okay, so i think we are friends now.”
Isha-“maybe”
R-“so tell me about yourself, now” and like this it went on for a long time and they became very good friends. She most of the time chatted with him unknowing alot about him and then one day-
1st Feb 2006
R-“Isha send me your picture”
And not knowing anything she sent her picture thinking it was casual. Then one day, her father called her, he was really angry. He showed her, her own picture that she had sent to Rajvi. Rajvi had photoshoped her picture and uploaded it online, on facebook.
She ran back to her room to text R, and demand to know what just happened, but the account was already deactivated. She was broken and torn apart. When she went back to her school, everyone was talking about her and was making fun of her. Her family never supported her.
She was very sad and couldn’t trust anyone. She was not able to handle the pressure from her peers and family members and search of peace she committed suicide.
She is not with us anymore but me – being someone who has lost a dear friend  want to tell everyone to come forward to stop cyber bulling as i don’t want what happened with her happens to anyone else. Any victim of cyber bulling should be given support and not neglected. Even if Isha family members would have given moral support she would have been with us.
We should be careful and not post anything unknowingly or make any unknown our friend.
There are many victims like Isha who are not with us anymore or even if they are they’re probably shut about-living from outside and ding from inside and culprits like Rajvi who are still roaming freely outside- so lets all of us put our hands out to help the ones who are the victims and pull them out of the darkness to live a better life.

ABOUT CYBER BULLYING

What is Cyber Bullying?

Cyber bullying is bullying that takes place using electronic technology. Electronic technology includes devices and equipment such as cell phones, computers, and tablets as well as communication tools including social media sites, text messages, chat, and websites.

"Cyber bullying" is when a child, preteen or teen is tormented, threatened, harassed, humiliated, embarrassed or otherwise targeted by another child, preteen or teen using the Internet, interactive and digital technologies or mobile phones. It has to have a minor on both sides, or at least have been instigated by a minor against another minor. Once adults become involved, it is plain and simple cyber-harassment or cyber stalking. Examples of cyber bullying include mean text messages or emails, rumors sent by email or posted on social networking sites, and embarrassing pictures, videos, websites, or fake profiles.
